I was born in Texas and transplanted to Florida where I live with my husband and two children. I love the water and relaxed lifestyle of the Florida west coast. I have always had a passion for art and its colorful history. Following school in Austin for Graphic Design, I worked in Dallas as a Graphic Designer.

I love art’s subjective and emotive nature. I express myself through painting and have for all of my adult life. My inspiration comes from the forms in nature as well as from colors themselves. Through painting I express the beauty I see in the small frozen moments in time and space. Art should be felt and experienced as much as being seen.

Artist Statement

I am an experimental artist who is constantly trying new techniques while staying true to my first love which is painting on canvas with bright primary colors. I express in my work my passion and fascination with colors and how they interact. I feel art should be felt as much as seen. I love it when people find not only beauty and peace in my work, but also find it thought provoking. I hope to expand my artistic career to show in a wide variety of forums: museums, galleries, private homes and corporate offices. I enjoy working with interior decorators and designers to create the "perfect" piece for a client - a piece from which they will always derive joy and peace.

When I begin a new piece, I decide what the style will be depending on how I feel. If I am trying to convey emotion my work is much looser in composition. If I want to tell more of a story or just show the beauty of an object, my work is much more controlled and precise. I do series of things because I feel everything has many facets – a different story from every angle. I try to constantly convey the gratitude I have for the subject or feeling I am trying to express.

The work that is bringing me the most satisfaction currently has a watery feel to it. I love the water and am fascinated awed by the sea. I happened upon this method by accident years ago while trying to correct a mistake on a realistic painting. I have always been passionate for expressive, free abstracts with vivid colors and a somewhat dreamy quality. I hope to create pieces people are drawn to really look at and form solid opinions of – good or bad.
